Little Black Dress
Her little black dress
Dances awkwardly round memories
Often visiting acquaintances
Of drink and sad songs.
She watches other black dresses
All coming to terms
With relearning their steps
And being in the singles chart
Once again.
Home alone, she lies
Silent in the dark
Without anyone’s arms.
The white wine spritzers
Still dancing in her head
